These are our national championships for Rapid and Blitz. Online registration for these events are now open. These events are FIDE<\/strong> rated for Rapid & Blitz and only those with HKG<\/strong> FIDE ID<\/strong> can play. There will be handsome trophies for the champions generously donated by our Vice President Daniel Lam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANT NOTICE<\/strong>:
The winners of each category shall become the official player for HKG in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2024 in New York. (https:\/\/www.fide.com\/news\/3182)
*<\/strong>Proof of permanent residence is required for any official player so designated. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School
On Shin Road, Upper Ngau Tau Kok, Estate, Kowloon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time controls:<\/strong>
Rapid 9 rounds – 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move
Blitz 11 rounds – 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiebreaks<\/strong>:
1) Direct Encounter
2) Buccholz Cut 1
3) Number of Black wins (byes and forfeits not counted)
4) FIDE Tiebreak progressive score
5) Drawing of lots<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadline: *** Applications will be closed on 17th October, 2024 at 12 noon<\/mark>.
Restrictions: Due to the size of the venue the maximum number of players is 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
