Hong Kong Chess Championships 2016
The Hong Kong Preliminaries and Finals are combined into one tournament for 2016. This will shorten the time needed to select the team for the Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijian (17th to 30th September 2016).
The top 3 finishers shall be entitled to represent HKG in this Olympiad. There is a subsidy from the organizers for the airfares. Accommodation has been promised to be at least 4 stars hotel and we can expect a truly memorable experience.
The Hong Kong Chess Championships 2016 will be played over 11 rounds from 4th Jan through to 21st Mar on Mondays except for the Chinese New Year on 8th Feb.
Time control is 75 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move. All games shall start at 18:30 sharp. (see regulations)

Baku Olympiad Women Team Selection
Selection for a women’s team shall follow the same schedule as the HKCC. There are 10 entries in a round robin tournament with the top three finishers gaining the automatic places in the Hong Kong Women’s Team. Drawing of lots shall be performed on Monday 4th Jan 2016 and round 1 starts immediately afterwards.
