HKCFL Upcoming Chess Events
Hong Kong Open 2016 (FIDE rated)
Starting Monday 3rd October and then every Monday (except 7th November) thereafter, with last round on Thursday, 1st December (note that every round is on a Monday except round 9 on 1st December). There will be 9 rounds played at standard time control of 75 minutes for whole game with 30 seconds increment for every move from move 1. However, if there are any players rated above 2200 the time control shall be 2 hours for the whole game without increments, FIDE quickplay rules shall apply. To register just be present at the Committee rooms of the Queen Elisabeth Stadium on Monday, 3rd October no later than 18:40. Latecomers shall not be paired.
Non-members must pay HKD300 to play.
Christmas Blitz 2016 (FIDE rated)
A one day event on Monday 5th December. Registration on site (QES) from 18:30 to 18:45.
Non-members must pay HKD200 to play.
Christmas Rapid 2016 (FIDE rated)
Over 2 days in December before Christmas. To register just be present at the Committee rooms of the Queen Elisabeth Stadium on Thursday, 15th December no later than 18:40. Latecomers shall not be paired.
Thursday 15th December – rounds 1,2 & 3
Monday 19th December – rounds 4,5,6 & 7
Non-members must pay HKD200 to play.
Jolimark (HK) International Open 2016 (FIDE rated and title norms)
9 rounds from 26th to 30th December 2016. Tentatively, venue will be at the Kung Lee College on Tai Hang Drive. Online registration open soon, watch this space.
Hong Kong National Juniors (FIDE rated – standard chess)
Over 2 days at the Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College on 7th & 8th January 2017. Online registration will be available in a few days.
