Hong Kong SAR Junior Rapid and Inter-School Chess Championships 2026

The Hong Kong China Chess Federation has an innovative event that unites individual excellence with collective teamwork, setting a new standard in school chess competitions. This excellent approach aims to kindle greater enthusiasm among children for team-based chess events. 中國香港國際象棋總會開創了一項新的比賽，將個人的卓越成績與團隊合作結合起來，為校際國際象棋比賽樹立了新標準。 這種創新的方式旨在激發孩子們參與國際象棋團體賽的更大熱情。

In this unique competition, a grand champion will be named in each of three categories: Under 10, under 14 and Under 18. This multi-tiered approach ensures that players compete within their respective age groups, maintaining a level playing field and enhancing the competitive spirit. 在這項獨特的賽事中，U10、U14, U18 三個年齡組將分別產生一名總冠軍。這種多層次分組結構確保選手們能夠在各自的年齡組內進行比賽，既保證了公平性，又培養了更強的競爭精神。

Moreover, the event will not only honour exceptional individual players but also recognize the collective achievements of school teams. By aggregating the total points earned by a school’s top four finishers, the federation will determine and celebrate the most outstanding school team champions. 此外，該項賽事不僅表彰傑出棋手的個人成就，還表彰校隊的集體成就。根據每所學校最佳的四名棋手獲得的總分，將確定並頒發團體冠軍。

From this year the champion school in the under 14 section, comprising 5 players from the same school will represent HKG at the World School Team Championship. This comes with free hotel accommodation and all meals. 由今年起，U14 組別的冠軍學校（隊伍須由 5 名來自同一學校的棋手組成），將代表中國香港出戰世界學校團體錦標賽 (World School Team Championship)。 代表隊成員將享有免費酒店住宿和大會提供之全日膳食

NOTE: A school can enter any number of students giving them a better chance of winning the team championship. 注意：學校可以指派任意數量的學生參賽以增加團體獲勝機會
