Asian Games 2023 Selection Tournament – Women
The biggest event ever held for women in Hong Kong is just around the corner. The Asian Games team selectees will be the top 5 players, using tiebreaks if necessary. If you are one of the top 5 players selected but cannot attend the games in Hangzhou, please inform the organizers immediately after this tournament. This will allow the 6th place and below to be given the opportunity to represent Hong Kong at this great sporting extravaganza.
But that’s not all – this tournament will also be the de-facto Hong Kong Chess Championship 2023 for Women. The winner will receive a handsome trophy, donated by our VP Daniel Lam. It’s a great opportunity to not only represent your country but also to prove that you are the best female chess player in Hong Kong.
The top finishers from this tournament will also qualify to represent Hong Kong at the Asian Indoor Games to be held in Bangkok from 17th to 26th November 2023. It’s an exciting chance to compete on an international stage and bring home glory for the HKSAR.
And that’s not all – the top finishers from this tournament will also qualify to play for Hong Kong at the China Mind Sports 2023. The number of participants will be determined by the Chinese Chess Association, but this is an incredible opportunity to continue your chess journey and take on some of the best players in China.
