HKSAR Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships 2024
These are our national championships for Rapid and Blitz. Online registration for these events are now open. These events are FIDE rated for Rapid & Blitz and only those with HKG FIDE ID can play. There will be handsome trophies for the champions generously donated by our Vice President Daniel Lam.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The winners of each category shall become the official player for HKG in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2024 in New York. (https://www.fide.com/news/3182)
*Proof of permanent residence is required for any official player so designated.
Venue:
Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School
On Shin Road, Upper Ngau Tau Kok, Estate, Kowloon
Time controls:
Rapid 9 rounds – 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move
Blitz 11 rounds – 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move
Tiebreaks:
1) Direct Encounter
2) Buccholz Cut 1
3) Number of Black wins (byes and forfeits not counted)
4) FIDE Tiebreak progressive score
5) Drawing of lots

Restrictions: Due to the size of the venue the maximum number of players is 100.
